Sayani Gupta Mesmerizes As Showstopper For The Archipelago Collection
The designers Kanika Sachdev and Neelanjan Ghosh presented the brand “Jajaabor” after conducting extensive research.
The “Archipelago” collection was inspired by their colorful travels around Indonesia for Lakmé Fashion Week in collaboration with FDCI.
Urmi Daga, a well-known influencer, went down the runway in an elaborate, multicolored short and an ankle-length velvet coat with a printed lining to kick off the “Archipelago” show.
It was a look that honored the “Island of Gods,” revealing several facets of Indonesia’s beauty through clothing when the island’s unspoiled biosphere and unity in diversity were mirrored in the vibrant line of ensembles.
The traditional coastal batiks created by Dutch textile artist Eliza Charlotte Van Zuylen as well as historic Indonesian postal stamps served as the inspiration for the vibrant reactive designs. Another appearance was skillfully inspired by the Ramayana and Mahabharata shadow puppet performances by the WayangKulit group. These two very potent sources of inspiration required the materials to match the elegance of the combinations. Chanderi silk, organza, textured cotton, silk, velvet, and tulle were among the textiles that gave the collection its life.
Although the line was primarily for ladies, some silhouettes suggested that it would also be suitable for men because it had a wide range of long and short coats with draped necks and lapels. The variety of jackets continued with intriguing kimonos that were flawlessly reversible in velvet, patterns, and tulle, as well as a variety of tulle trench coats, bomber jackets, corset versions, and other jackets. The shirt and peg variations, saris, and tulle corset dresses added extra feminine glitz to the extremely extensive selection.
The silhouettes were ethereal and perfect for the global consumer who aspires to own clothing that can transition easily from one chic soirée to another.
Jade, turquoise, cerulean, and teal were balanced by tangerine, sunset orange, and fiery red, and were finished with foliage green, brown, and mustard to fit the timeless line of clothing. These colors all emphasized the natural beauty of Indonesia.
During the show’s grand finale, Sayani Gupta made a spectacular entrance wearing a glittering cropped jacket with amazing sleeves and an off-center fastening along with a crimson, asymmetrical tulle skirt.
“The combination of design approaches, prints, and colors has certainly been the inspiration for me to walk this show as a showstopper,” Sayani Gupta said. “I was thrilled to be a part of this magnificent adventure, especially because the creative duo and I share a Bengali connection” added Sayani.
The “Archipelago” collection from the “Jajaabor” label by Kanika Sachdev and Neelanjan Ghosh featured some wonderful timeless fashion when it comes to an unorthodox fashion decision.
