In collaboration with FDCI, the “Nirmooha” brand infused art into design during Lakmé Fashion Week. This season, Preeti Jaiin Nainutia’s Nirmooha label displayed an unusual geometric exuberance on the runway which may well win over customers. For the Fall/Winter 2023–2024 season, the collection—quaintly dubbed “Matrix”—centered around a linear narrative.

As brilliant emerald, gorgeous amethyst, commanding jade, regal ruby, subdued carbon, and neutral eggshell whites came together in perfect harmony, the colors seemed a little decadent but rich in tones.

The collection was highlighted by the ‘Nirmooha’ signature prints, which were quite noticeable. Yet, the designer favored experimenting this season with a toned-down version of abstract designs that were layered with visually arresting linear drawings.

Preeti focused on ready-to-wear items since they could transition a wearer from classic business attire to glam party options as the sunset.

For that trendy effect, men’s clothing included glittering shirts, a shorts/shirt/jacket trio, as well as some eye-catching robes.

Women’s clothing was as formal and included a trench coat made of glitter and a two-piece suit with a jacket that highlighted the large lapels.

Tamannaah Bhatia, a ravishing Bollywood diva, put a high note on the performance as she slinks down the runway in a black halter gown with geometric silver embellishments.

Preeti Jaiin Nainutia’s “Matrix” collection for her “Nirmooha” label has definite art deco influences that will appeal to sophisticated fashion enthusiasts who want to explore new design directions in 2023.
