Indus Towers Limited, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, donated an ‘Ambulance van’ to the North Dum Dum Municipality in Kolkata, West Bengal.

This CSR effort demonstrates Indus Towers’ dedication to societal safety and well-being, which are fundamental to the company’s ethos.

The van was inaugurated by Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Minister-of-State, West Bengal at an event at North Dum Dum Municipality Hospital. Key office bearers of the North Dum Dum Municipality, Hon’ble Chairman, Bidhan Biswas, Vice Chairman, Lopa Mudra Dutta, and Chairman-in-Council, Soumen Dutta were also present.

The van would contribute to the area of North Dum Dum Municipality having improved healthcare facilities based there. The vehicle has been made available to assist communities with special needs and hospitals and health centers run by the health department. Impact Guru Foundation, a partner in Indus Towers’ implementation, is carrying out the CSR effort.

The vehicle can be used to deliver basic health checks and immunizations in addition to transporting patients.

The vehicle is equipped with all required electrical components, including an autoloader stretcher, nine squad benches, Roof Light Beacon, and Patient Compartment LED Lights.

The initiative’s benefit to the neighborhood was recognized by the dignitaries.

The National Health Mission (NHM), which seeks to improve the nation’s healthcare systems, will in part be realized thanks to the CSR effort. To achieve the objectives of the NHM, quick and dependable access to ambulance van services is essential. The National Ambulance van Service and other NHM-affiliated programs will benefit from the contribution of this ambulance van. From this point on, residents of underserved villages in the area served by the ambulance van will have easy access to ambulance van services by dialing 108.

Ambulance vans were previously given to public health departments in Mumbai and Ahmedabad as part of the same CSR project.

Such vans would also be offered by Indus Towers in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Kerala.
