The goal of Earth Day celebrations around the world is to increase youth awareness of environmental issues. ‘Invest In Our Planet’ serves as the topic for this year. Global warming, pollution, and waste generation have been frequently addressed for more than ten years, but the current heatwave in the city and the nation is evidence of the imminent climate crisis. The nation as a whole must now decide on sustainable alternatives, proper waste management techniques, and cooperative little measures.
India is the world’s fifth-largest producer of electronic trash, and since over 80% of that garbage is handled by the unorganized sector there, the scope of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Producer Responsibility Organisations (PRO) is only going to expand in the future.
