Britannia Marie Gold My Startup Show To Highlight Women Entrepreneurs
Britannia Marie Gold has announced the debut of “Britannia Marie Gold My Startup Show,” starring Dhonni Meyer Upakkhan, the first television program to ever spotlight women entrepreneurs. This is a follow-up to Britannia’s flagship project, the Britannia Marie Gold My Startup contest, which was launched in 2019 to encourage women to launch their own businesses. The annual show, which is currently in its fourth season, has attracted interest from over 4 million applicants throughout the nation and has so far financed 40 ladies with INR 10 lakh each.
“Britannia Marie Gold My Startup Show” is the first Bengali television show that started with the purpose of fuelling the dreams of women who aspire to break stereotypes and establish successful enterprises.
The show is hosted by famed Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee, and will feature‘womenpreneurs’ from across West Bengal pitching their business ideas to a jury comprised of notable business leaders from the State.
The Jury members include Siddhartha Sankar Bose (Founder & Director of Bhojohori Manna Restaurants India LTD), Rishika Das Roy (Marketing director of the Barge Company), Malavika Banerjee(Co-founder of Byloom), Sulagna Ghosh(Co-founder of Sienna store and café), Rochita Dey (Director of Sreeleathers), Keya Seth (Founder of Keya Seth Aromatherapy), Chandrashekar Ghosh (Founder, MD and CEO of Bandhan Bank), Sagar Daryani (Founder of WOW Momo Food) & Dipti Sudhir (Head- Digital Marketing & PR at Britannia Industries Limited).
The show will include 12 episodes, each featuring 5 ‘womenpreneurs’ and their business ideas. The shortlisted contestants will compete to be one of the 20 finalists. The final winners will receive INR 10 Lakh each to grow their businesses. The show will also feature 2 golden chance episodes, in which 10 deserving contestants will get a second chance to pitch to the jury after receiving guidance from pre-appointed mentors.
The show is produced exclusively for West Bengal and began airing on Star Jalsha on 6th May 2023.
