With the well-liked Stagecraft Awards 2023, the Stagecraft Foundation, a charitable trust established to recognize and recognize those who toil diligently behind the scenes in the Live Stage arena, made a triumphant return after a break of 4 years.

The director of Stagecraft is Padmashree Usha Uthup. Prosenjit Chatterjee, the Foundation’s spokesperson, attended the event with the who’s who of the movie business.

This occasion coincides with Science City’s 25th anniversary celebration. Science City is renowned internationally for its distinctive approach to science popularisation, captivating millions of visitors through its innovative blend of education and entertainment. The foundation considers it an honor to host this grand event in collaboration with Science City, which shares the role of co-organizer.

Two prestigious hospitals came out this year to assist the honorees. Leaders in healthcare and wellness, Apollo Hospitals and Disha Eye Hospitals, have partnered with S Board as Health Partners. The recipients will receive complimentary health examinations and cataract operations.

At the Stagecraft Awards 2023, there were excellent performances in honor of legends who are no longer with us.

Rituparna Sengupta paid homage to the dance gurus, Birju Maharaj, Saroj Khan, and Amala Shankar. Kavita Krishnamurthy paid her special tribute to Lata Mangeshkar &Vani Jayram.

Amit Mishra paid tribute to the KK through his mellifluous singing while acclaimed singer Nachiketa along with Ujjaini and Dhanshiri Chakraborty paid their tribute to Narendra Chanchal, Bhupinder Singh, and Shakti Thakur.

Bonny Sengupta paid tribute to Rishi Kapoor through a dance performance.

Iman Chakraborty and Raghab Chatterjee paid tribute to Sandhya Mukherjee, Nirmala Mishra, and Ruma GuhaThakurta.

P.C. Sircar conferred two special awards, The Spirit Of Stagecraft to Madhab Chowdhury and Sanjit Sarkar for their vital roles in the magical journey of the internationally recognized Magician. A special category of Foundation Recognition Award was bestowed to four caretakers of different venues.

Special Awards were felicitated upon the Late Kaushik Dutta of Splash for instituting the Asian Paints Sharad Samman and to Hasi Panchal, a sound engineer who has worked with legends like Manna Dey and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay.

The Hall of Fame was conferred to the Late Shri P. C. Mukherjee, Founder of Shiva, the rock band.
