ILEAD Kolkata curated a unique Durga Idol crafted by using upcycling metal waste.

This Ma Durga idol was unveiled at Maitri Sangha. The idol took three months to make and weighs more than 500 kilograms.

The idol was inaugurated by Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman of the West Bengal Pollution Control Board and Member of the Central Pollution Control Board, and Pradip Chopra, Chairman of ILEAD.

Maitri Sangha is situated at Motilal Nehru Road and has been a renowned pandal for many decades.

Chairs, sofas made from rejected tires, and false ceiling dancing floor façade using toughened glass taken out of fridges adorn the inside of the pandal of Maitri Sangha.

Pradip Chopra said that at ILEAD, they have found many reuses of rejected items that are also accepted by the consumers as well. This Durga idol is one such initiative.

With this initiative, waste materials can be used for good purposes.
