Saurabh Shukla was in Kolkata to talk in the masterclass session at the 29^th Kolkata International Film Festival.

The masterclass was moderated by ace filmmaker Arindam Sil.

According to the veteran actor, acting is not limited to one platform. It transcends the platforms. The most important element is to understand the essence of the different mediums in which the actor acts.

The actor shed light on the nuances associated with acting.

He also showcased different techniques of acting and switched between moods and genres.

Saurabh Shukla gave his opinion on one of the most topical issues of recent times OTT versus cinema. OTT when combined with cinematic principles has led to the rekindling of cinematic experience.

When asked about the key to success, the actor said that perseverance and love for the art form are the answers.

The actor said that an actor can shine only when his co-actors will shine. According to Shukla, fans remember his roles because the film was memorable for a while.

“The film’s characters are like your girlfriends. You always like the latest one the most” said Saurabh.

His advice for the new talented actors is that they must not be anxious. Instead, they must go on and continue acting. It is just like a game of cricket where one must clear the anxieties and continue to play their game.

Saurabh Shukla further said that art for him is a place where there is no hierarchy. Everyone is a creator of art.

Before the masterclass, the actor also engaged with the media in an amazing press conference.
