Tata Steel Kolkata 25K 2023 Event Ambassador and former Welsh 110m hurdles world record holder Colin Jackson met with the media before the big race on Sunday.

Colin won a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He said that India is a “sleeping giant” in world athletics. His advice to the Indian athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics is not to get intimidated by the hype and the environment. Instead, they should rather concentrate on their preparations.

He was overwhelmed to see the response from the city and wished the participants the best.

Colin opined that running has the power to bring the community together. It is inclusive and it is the beauty of the sport.
