IKSFF 2024: 3-Day Hybrid Film Festival With Amazing Films
International Kolkata Short Film Festival or IKSFF organized a press conference to announce the details and highlights of the upcoming edition.
IKSFF 2024 will be a hybrid festival that combines virtual and real-world activities. This year’s celebration will be a fantastic six-day celebration devoted to honoring the craft of filmmaking and presenting the audience with a wide range of captivating films from many genres of cinema.
The different genres that will be showcased are Tribal Films, Human Rights Films, Children’s Films, LGBTQ films, Women-Centric films, and others.
Some films to look out for include:
- Cabbage- Cast consists of Moon Moon Sen and Sabyasachi Chakraborty
- The Last Tram- Directed by Paramita Munshi with actor Chiranjeet as cast.
- Nehemich by Yudhajit Basu that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
- Two Way Street- Indian film with an Oscar nomination
- Shyam Benegal produced film “Yaan” directed by Satish Sharma
- A film with Anirban Bhattacharya, and directed by Bauddhayan Mukherji.
- My Father is Afraid of Water with cast Mohan Agashe.
There will be masterclasses, seminars, and film screenings at ILEAD on the three days from 11 am to 6 pm. Cinema with a Cause, LGBTQ narrative and notions, and From Her Lens will be discussed at ILEAD.
The festival will begin with an online screening on Kolkata’s First Short Film Platform eFilmzone -www.efilmzone.ev.
The physical festival and the award ceremony are free for all.
A total of 30+ awards will be awarded to the winners along with the Late Jibon Guha Memorial Award and Award for Best Bengali Actor of Decade.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to Mohan Agashe for his contribution to Indian Cinema.
270 films have been submitted from 30 countries. 125 films will be screened online.
The 4th International Kolkata Short Film Festival will be held from 23rd January to the 28th of January 2024.
The closing ceremony will take at Rotary Sadan from 5 pm to 10 pm.
