Excellent Performances By 18 Dance Groups On International Dance Day
On the occasion of International Dance Day, the West Bengal Dance Group Federation organized a cultural event titled World Dance Day 2024.
Eminent dance gurus like Mamata Shankar, Poly Guha, Purnima Ghosh, and others showered flowers in a pot to mark the start of the event.
The renowned dance gurus and dignitaries were all felicitated at the event for their outstanding contribution to the field of dance.
An amazing presentation of Kalaripayattu by workshop participants mesmerized the audience.
The martial art of Kalaripayattu, which uses weaponry and combative techniques specific to Kerala, evolved from the combat techniques used in the 11th and 12th centuries on the battlefield. The term Kalaripayattu translates roughly to practice in the arts of the battlefield. It is a compound of two Malayalam words: kalari (training ground or battleground) and payattu (training of martial arts).
It was followed by the workshop instructor Guru Ajith Kumar T’s splendid performance of Kalaripayattu.
Certificates were also presented to the workshop participants by Guru Ajith Kumar T.
