Dr. Sujishnu Mukhopadhyay, OSD, Planning, Development, Academics & Examination Affairs, West Bengal University of Health Sciences, advised students to learn to ask questions because simply reading textbooks won’t help them advance in their careers. At the Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing‘s 5th Lamp Lighting, Oath Taking, and Graduation event in Kolkata, he was speaking to nursing students. Education gave one the taste of amrita, but one has to work hard to get it, added Dr. Mukhopadhyay. He gave the Institute high marks for its comprehensive effort to prepare future nurses.

The CEO of Belle Vue Clinic, Mr. Pradip Tondon, mentioned the late Priyamvada Birla’s initiative to establish the Institute to have qualified nurses on hand to offer critical backup to medical services. Shri Tondon urged the students to utilize their education to the fullest and to enter the nursing field with confidence. The MP Birla Group’s Belle Vue Clinic includes the Nursing Institute as one of its units.

The Principal of PBIN, Prof. Dipa Sarkar Dey, gave a lecture that was quite educational and described the Institute’s footprint. A total of 35 students received honors for their achievements.
