Trailer Of Prosenjit-Rituparna’s 50th Film Ajogyo Out Now
The legendary Bangla film pair Prosenjit-Rituparna stars in their record 50th feature film, Ajogyo, following the historic triumph of Drishtikone.
Similar to his 2023 hit film Ardhangini, Kaushik Ganguly’s Ajogyo is an atypical drama about how a troubled past reappears to disturb the present.
The protagonist of the tale is Raktim Majumdar, a former regular banker who is now a broken stay-at-home parent who is in severe need of employment. Amid this difficulty, Raktim’s wife Parna is forced to leave the family and find employment at an investing firm. Everything was fine until Prosen, Raktim’s confidante, entered their life. Will the Majumdar family experience peace and security as a result of Prosen’s friendship, or will further turbulence befall the middle-class family?
“I think it’s a pleasure for every performer to work with Kaushik Ganguly as the director. It’s also my third film with Kaushik Ganguly and Surinder Films in a row. Both Jyeshthoputro and Drishtikone were critically lauded and huge hits. Since Ritu and I will be commemorating our 50th movie together, it will be the third and most unforgettable. It only happens when the audience says they want to see us together on screen. It hasn’t changed in years” said Prosenjit Chatterjee who plays Prosen in the film.
“God has been incredibly gracious to us as the audience has shown us so much affection over the years. It would never have been possible without their affection. I owe them my deepest thanks and debt. For me, working with Kaushik Ganguly is truly a blessing. Working with him is truly enjoyable. He was busy with the film, yet he never lost his smile. I don’t know how he manages to stay so happy and warm for everyone around him. This is my third movie with Kaushikda, so hopefully I’ve lived up to his expectations. Both Ajogyo’s story and the script are superb. I believe Kaushikda has continuously provided us with amazing tales. This movie will also affect viewers” said Rituparna Sengupta who plays Parna.
“After extensive investigation, I was unable to locate any two actors who have collaborated on 50 films in Bengali cinema history. This is the first love story Rituparna and Prosenjit have ever been in. They have previously appeared in stories, but not quite like the one in Ajogyo. It matches with their experience and maturity. Ajogyo is helping them create history. I think they’ll finish their hat trick with Ajogyo. Seeing a couple who have the natural ability to stay charming for a long time is heartening. I’m overjoyed to be directing them and have my film included in their 50th celebration” said Kaushik Ganguly.
The music of the film is composed by Anupam Roy, Indraadip Dasgupta, and Ranajoy Bhattacharjee.
Ajogyo is slated for release on 7th June.
