The shooting of the upcoming Bengali film Nevermind was graced by director Chaiti Ghoshal, actors Rituparna Sengupta, Amartya Ray, and Anusha Viswanathan.

Searching for something from her past, a woman ends herself at a pub where she meets a young, charismatic bar singer, with whom she develops an odd bond. It is an ensemble film that takes place in a single day and night and links several parallel individuals from Kolkata’s diverse diaspora by placing them in the same pub, Nevermind. It examines the ever-present underbelly of Park Street and the surrounding neighborhoods in addition to their cosmopolitan character. However, the movie ultimately tells the tale of how human connections can win.

Director Chaiti Ghoshal said “Rituparna was the first choice for me when I thought of Trina. And for Jude, Amartya was on my mind. I called them both and they agreed. I have always felt that there are so many stories regarding women that need to be told. And this film will share such a story. I felt the urge to tell this story and hence I put on the director’s cap. Had I not felt the urge, I would not have made the film”.

The cast consists of Rituparna Sengupta as Trina, Amartya Ray as Jude, Rudronil Ghosh as Sanyal, Subhashis Mukhopadhyay as Robi, Subrajit Dutta as Abhi, Anusha Viswanathan as Nayana, Raja Chakraborty as Badshah and Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee as Roy Da.

Amartya Ray said “I play Jude, a bar-singer in the film. The characters in the film from different walks of life come to the bar Nevermind. It is always a pleasure to see Rituparna Sengupta perform. And to get the chance to work with her has been a great feeling for me as an actor. We are shooting in an old house in Kolkata. Shooting in such houses is an amazing feeling as you feel the history behind the house”.

Rituparna Sengupta said “I play Trina in the film. She is a woman who cannot forgive herself. She cannot say nevermind in her life. It is very vital that we could say never mind in our lives and move on in our lives. But that is often not the case and we hold on to things that often make us sad and dejected”.
