Bohurupi

The first track from Windows Production‘s upcoming Pujo release, Bohurupi, Shimul Polash, is out now. The song, which features Shiboprosad and Koushani Mukherjee, is sung by original Bohurupi artists Nanichora Das Baul and Shrestha Das. Bonnie Chakraborty and Nanichora Das Baul composed the music, and Nanichora Das Baul wrote the lyrics.

The song does a wonderful job of capturing Bikram and Jhimli’s married life journey. The story begins with Jhimli getting ready for her wedding day. She is wearing jewelry made of polash flowers, and Bikram and his buddies are arriving. The song does a fantastic job of capturing the exuberant and happy vibe of the wedding. Following the wedding, a boat excursion and a stroll across a far-off countryside represent Bikram and Jhimli’s start of their new life together.

A peek of their family-building adventure is also shown in the song. Notably, Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Koushani Mukherjee are seen dancing together for the first time.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee said, “The song “Shimul Polash” is a true tribute to the soil, sung by the original Bohurupi artists Nanichora Das Baul and Shrestha Das, which is truly a masterpiece. My favorite moment from the song will always be the one where Bikram and Jhimli are shown strolling together in a far-off environment, signifying the start of their journey as a family. It’s particularly meaningful to me because, despite the difficulties it presented, the audience will witness me dance for the first time since my injury. Dancing with Koushani, a talented and seasoned dancer, made me anxious”.

“This song is particularly special because it beautifully captures the relationship between Jhimli and Bikram. The process of filming this song was both lovely and tough. For example, there was a part in which I had to dance on muddy ground, which made it hard to stand and balance. To make clay pots for the song, I also went to multiple pottery classes, which was an interesting experience. This is a project that we worked hard on, and it is really meaningful to me. We had a great time making it, and I hope the audience enjoys it even more” said Koushani.

The film will be released during the upcoming Durga Puja.
