The ultimate rock song of the year, Nouka Bilashi, featuring the ever-popular rockstar Rupam Islam, was released by Asha Audio, one of the top record labels in Eastern India. The song, written by the talented team Shiladitya – Som, tells the story of a fascinating musical trip that explores the relationship between darkness and the unwavering quest for freedom in the human psyche.

The release of Nouka Bilashi’s enthralling music video, which was directed by the renowned filmmaker Arnab Riingo Banerjee was released at Inox Quest.

“We had made the song sometime before. And we had hoped to release it during this time when people hope for more. But we did not think that this situation would arise. But it has to be highlighted that there is a protest even in this song. Rock songs have an in-built protest in them. It is not always evident but it is hidden in the lyrics and the music arrangement” said Rupam.

Nouka Bilashi is more than just a song; it’s a declaration of the inner darkness and delusions we pursue in our search for freedom. The story uses the metaphor of the North Star, a direction and guide symbol, getting lost in a sea of enigmatic, flickering lights, signifying the ephemeral nature of existence and its passing moments.

The lyrics of Soham Majumdar provide a vivid image of a mind that is pushed inexorably towards the dark, searching for purpose in fleeting moments while battling shattered memories and a bleak future. The melancholy tune and tragic lyrics perfectly capture the battle of self-recognition amid unseen scars that all too soon become obvious.
