Surinder Films and Soham’s Entertainment revealed the trailer of Shastri in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Shastri is a much-awaited return to the charm of the past since it also represents Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy’s cooperation after 16 years. “I love shooting with Mithun da because he is like family to me. I wasn’t paired with him in the previous movie we were in. We are enjoying ourselves immensely on the sets of this movie, which is our first time working together in a long time. He usually plays practical jokes or jokes about the settings. I hope the audience will continue to love us as much as they did when they first saw our pair” said Debasree Roy.

She also added that when she heard the script, she had asked for some changes. After the director made the changes, she agreed to do the film.

Mithun Chakraborty has two looks in Shastri. One role will show him as a struggling man who is bullied and oppressed. When he becomes Shastri, he gets his revenge on the people who bullied him. After becoming Shastri, the actor has three different looks.

The director (Pathikrit Basu) said that the story and the amazing cast are the USP of his upcoming film.

“My character is an astrophysicist by profession. He opposes individuals who propagate superstition and misunderstand astrology” said Soham.

Sauraseni Maitra said “I have grown up watching Mithun Chakraborty and Debasree Roy on the big screen. To get a chance to act in the same film with them is a lifetime opportunity for me. It has been a great learning experience as well”.

The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Soham Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Anirban Chakraborti, Sauraseni Maitra, Rajatava Dutta and Ayush Das.

With music composed by Indraadip Dasgupta, the film is set to release on the 8th of October.
