ILS Hospitals Howrah’s Special Walkathon For Diabetes Awareness
ILS Hospitals, Howrah, hosted the Walkathon 2024 in honor of World Diabetes Day, attracting over 200 enthusiastic participants who are all devoted to promoting a healthier future.
The event was inaugurated by Mr Debashis Dhar, Group Vice President – Business Development, ILS Hospitals, and Dr. Mohua Golder (COO).
“This year’s theme, Diabetes and Well-being, emphasizes the critical role of community support as well as the significance of social, physical, and mental well-being in diabetes management and prevention. Walkathon 2024 aims to improve diabetes awareness in our society, highlighting the need for lifelong care and the vital assistance provided by families. We recognize and value the importance that families play in helping people live better lives and combat this ailment,” said Mr Debashis Dhar, Group Vice President, Business Development, ILS Hospitals.
“Today, even without a family history, many people are at risk of developing diabetes as a result of their sedentary lives. This illness can cause major problems such as kidney failure, eyesight loss, and limb amputation. Making conscious decisions for a healthy diet, frequent exercise, and an active lifestyle can dramatically reduce the risk of diabetes,” said Dr. Mohua Golder (COO).
The walk began at ILS Hospitals in Howrah and took participants past major places such as the Salkia Flyover, Howrah Station Road, and Salkia School Road before returning to the hospital. Participants carried digital candles to symbolize their common commitment to eradicating diabetes, as well as placards with various diabetes awareness and prevention messages.
