Audiences in Chicago, New York, San Jose, New Jersey, and Dallas have been overwhelmingly positive about Ayushmann Khurrana‘s performances during his recent five-city US music tour. Singer and Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana previously stated that he loves singing and music as a parallel hobby and that he also appreciates the process of making songs.

The actor has now disclosed how he began singing and performing live. He describes how he performed live for the first time, in the United States, thanks to Arijit Singh.

“I always thought I am good as an actor, and I can sing in movies, but I never thought I would do an onstage performance in front of thousands of people. Arijit Singh is credited with my very first musical performance. Dallas has a Diwali Mela each year, and in 2013, following Vicky Donor’s triumph and his win of the Filmfare for Best Singer, Arijit called me. His band had arrived in Dallas, and he asked me to go perform there since he had an emergency that prevented him from attending the Mela. I clarified that this was something I had never considered. He made a sincere plea, and since I’ve always been his fan, I gave in” said Ayushmann.

“I went to the concert and the stadium was full, with almost fifty thousand people. I was surprised because this was a significant change from a drawing-room performance. Everyone thought Arijit’s band did a fantastic job performing about ten songs, and the reception was fantastic! The credit for this goes to Arijit Singh since I loved it so much that I knew I had to start my band and perform live” said Ayushmann when discussing his first-ever live singing experience.

Ayushmann’s upcoming projects include an untitled project with Dharma and Sikhya Productions and Thama, from Maddock’s freshly revealed horror comedy universe.
