ECMO Services & 2nd Cath Lab Now At Charnock Hospital
An important turning point in critical and cardiac care for Newtown and the surrounding areas has been reached with the introduction of ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) services and a Second Cath Lab at Charnock Hospital.
For critically ill patients, ECMO, a sophisticated life support device, provides hope in life-threatening circumstances by temporarily replacing heart and lung functions. This cutting-edge treatment, which Charnock Hospital is the first to offer in Newtown, closes a critical healthcare gap in the area.
The hospital’s ability to execute life-saving cardiac treatments including angiograms and angioplasties is improved by the Second Cath Lab’s latest technologies, which include HD IVUS, FFR/DFR, and ROTAPRO. The hospital’s cardiology department continues to set standards for excellence with over 400 cases per month, over 5000 cases annually, and “zero” on-table mortality.
“Today, we are pleased to introduce ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) at Charnock Hospital, a significant advancement in our critical care capabilities, In situations where conventional treatments would not be sufficient, this technology gives patients with severe heart and lung failure the best chance of recovery. At the most critical times, we want to make sure that patients who are in critical condition receive the best treatment possible. This is the first time ECMO services have ever been made available to the people of Newtown, demonstrating our continued dedication to enhancing health outcomes and increasing access to cutting-edge medical care. This facility addition demonstrates our commitment to serving the changing needs of the healthcare industry” said Mr. Prashant Sharma, MD, Charnock Hospital.
The inauguration, which top medical experts attended, demonstrated Charnock Hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare standards and guaranteeing that the community has access to state-of-the-art, compassionate care.
