Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) and Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH) collaborated to present two amazing events at South Lawn-VMH- UTSAV III and Dance on Wheels. Both these events were part of the KCC’s annual interdisciplinary arts festival- AMI Arts Festival 2024.

Utsav-III started with a dance performance “Dance on Wheels” with 7 performers. Some of them have lost their legs because of Polio while one lost their legs in a fatal train accident.

Chetan Upadhyay choreographed the performance.

The dance performance was done by Nav Utthan Group.

Through their performance, the group challenged society’s perceptions of disability and empowered individuals with disabilities. The group’s famous act is the wheelchair drop act. It has been featured in the India Book of Records. They also performed in popular television shows like India’s Got Talent and Big Celebrity Challenge. They are the only dance troupe in India that performs high-flying wheelchair stunts.

The festival began on 21^st November and will continue till 22^nd December. It comprises exhibitions, talks, music, dance and theatre performances, film screenings, workshops, and many more.
