The 7th International Photography Exhibition “Fotofunia” was inaugurated in the presence of eminent guests like Anupam Halder (Renowned International photographer & WBCS, Joint Commissioner of Revenue, Govt. of West Bengal), Santu Adhikari (Founder of Light Reading Photography & Mentor, Judge, and Photographer), Riddhi Sen (Indian Film Actor)and others.

Fotofunia is a well-known Facebook photography group. It started in 2018.

Those who love to travel and take photographs are part of this Facebook group. Not only professional photographers, but engineers, doctors, teachers, professors, and people from other professions are also part of the group.

The group started with three people. They are Subrata Roychowdhury and Nabin Saha from Siliguri and Jayanti Sarkar from Kolkata.

The exhibition from the first two years was organized in Siliguri’s Ramkinkar Hall. After that, the exhibition took place in Kolkata for the last four years.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Anupam Halder said “I loved many of the photographs in the exhibition. They showcased great creativity and also amazing photography skills. I had a good time going through the exhibition”.

The organizers revealed that school and college students were also provided a platform for this exhibition.

Riddhi Sen said that simply taking pictures and uploading them on social media is not proper photography. “There are people who know which is the best angle for a photograph. That differentiates between a photographer and a person who just clicks random pictures. I love going to exhibitions where such amazing pictures are displayed. It does not matter whether the picture is taken via a smartphone or a digital camera. The content matters”.

A great exhibition indeed for photography lovers.
