New Film Raas Focuses On Reviving Forgotten Bengali Culture
Raas is a story about reviving forgotten Bengali culture and traditions. It is a history of the decline of a united family, including their love, connections, and values. It is the narrative of a grandson reconciling with his grandmother, a son returning to his roots, and a bygone golden period coming to life again.
Some of the highlights of the film are:
- Vikram Chatterjee and Devlina Kumar will make their on-screen debut together.
- The film has 50 actors, including 32 key characters. Each scene features 24-25 actors.
- This film is somewhat autobiographical for the director, as it was inspired by childhood recollections.
- This story explores vanished Bengali life, similar to the works of Shirshendu and Sanjib Chattopadhyay.
- The joy of united families, celebrations, and ordinary liveliness that have disappeared from our lives are at the heart of this film. It resembles the charm of Tarun Majumdar’s movies.
- The film digs into Bengalis’ lost beliefs, their methods of resistance, and timeless love stories from the past, all against the backdrop of today’s world.
