Nachiketa Ghosh was born in 1925. This year marks the 100 birth anniversary of the eminent music composer and director.

An event was organized to mark his 100^th birthday.

This was the initiative of the Nachiketa Ghosh Memorial Foundation.

Nachiketa Ghosh’s children Suparna Kanti Ghosh, Srabani Ghosh, Sampurna Ghosh, and other family members graced the event and shared their experiences with the music composer.

After a grand opening ceremony, felicitation was organized for distinguished guests.

Some of the eminent guests who graced the occasion were Haimanti Shukla, Kalyan Sen Barat, Antara Chowdhury, Srikanta Acharya, Saikat Mitra, Ratna Ghoshal, Joy Sarkar and many others.

Lastly, a musical documentary titled Mejajtai Toh Ashol Raja was screened. It showcased his immortal compositions that helped shape Bengali music and cinema. Untold stories of his amazing journey were also part of this musical documentary. Interviews with great artists like Soumitra Chatterjee, Dwijen Mukherjee, Abhijit Banerjee, Nirmala Misra, Chinmoy Roy, and Banashree Sengupta were also part of the documentary.

It was conceptualized, directed, and produced by Hara Prosaad Mondal. He is the son-in-law of the composer.

The documentary is made as a collage from a 22-episode docuseries that is scheduled for release this year.

A great initiative to mark the birth anniversary of such an eminent music composer.
