Humsaaz-The Musical’s grand music release was organized recently in the presence of director Soumyajit Ganguly, Devlina Kumar, Anwesshaa Dattagupta, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Joy Sarkar, Debojyoti Mishra and many other eminent guests.

The story is about three friends, Zoya, Khanak, and Nisha. They go on a girl’s trip. Khanak meets Loy during the trip. Loy is her acquaintance from her Gurukul and denies knowing about her. Things become complicated when Loy’s colleague Akshay and his girlfriend Rupali enter the story. What happens next?

The cast of the upcoming Hindi film consists of Anwesshaa as Khanak, Md Iqbal as Loy, Prakiti, and Dhrupadi as Nisha and Zoya, and others.

Devlina Kumar will be there in the film in a special role.

The film has 11 original songs sung by Shaan, Anwesshaa, and Abhay Jodhpurkar.

Anwesshaa is the film’s music composer. She is also making her acting debut with this film.

“In Western musicals, it is common for the singers to act in the film. We have tried that in Humsaaz. I play the role of Khanak Basu in the film. There is a Kolkata connection to the film. Many sequences have been shot in North Bengal. So that will be a treat for the nature lovers” said Anwesshaa.

Anwesshaa is a fan of Broadway musicals and this genre should be explored more in India. “There are a lot of talents in India and by exploring this format, one can get more such musicals in the country. Musicals have been made from time to time in Bollywood. And we have enjoyed them. But this is probably a pioneering film where the singer is singing the song. There is no aspect of playback in the film”.
