A new restaurant Flavours of Africa was inaugurated in the august presence of actor Abir Chatterjee, owners Dr, Kajari Mukherjee and Dr. Kalyan Kar.

The owners were fascinated by Shankar’s journey in the novel Chander Pahar. It is due to this enthusiasm that they traveled to the continent to explore the beauty and diversity themselves.

This African-themed restaurant aims to take people to Africa through their décor and food while being present in Kolkata.

The menu boasts mocktails like Ginger Spritz, Beery Soda, and Mango Lemonade.

The food on offer is Spiced chicken and onion samosa, Suya (Goat),  Spiced fried fish, Rolex, Mandazi, Chigumu, Malva Cake, and Muthokoi Mishkaki.

The beverages on offer are tea, coffee, and spirite/coke/fanta.

Speaking at the launch, Abir Chatterjee said “It is all about the experience when you come to this restaurant. The African-themed décor along with the food and music will surely give customers a great vibe. I love to travel and try different kinds of food. This is a common trait of most Bengalis. We love to travel and eat different kinds of food. And when such a new restaurant with a great menu launches in Kolkata, it is indeed a good piece of news”.
