The official poster of the upcoming Bengali film Madam Sengupta has been released.

Madam Sengupta follows renowned cartoonist Anurekha Sengupta (Rituparna Sengupta) as she investigates the horrific murder of her daughter Ananya at Bengali University, set against the colourful and chaotic backdrop of Kolkata. She is drawn into a murky world of political rivalries, family strife, and covert agendas as a result of her investigation.

Abol Tabol, a famous piece of satirical poetry by Sukumar Ray, is a defining element in the movie. It functions as a mirror and a motif, reflecting the quiet tragedies and fantastical absurdities that Anurekha must face. Madam Sengupta examines the disturbing nexus of satire, grief, and rebellion through this prism.

Sayantan Ghosal is the director of the film.

The director said, “Despite my reputation for writing thrillers and adventures, I wanted to try something new with Madam Sengupta. This is an emotional thriller in which the conflicts are fought within, where love and grief turn every mystery into something intensely personal. This movie is about facing the truths we hide and the resiliency that comes from loss, not just about solving a crime. It has been an amazing experience working with Rituparna Sengupta for the first time. She adds a quiet strength and emotional intensity that enhances every scene of the story. I want to give audiences a different kind of theatrical experience with Madam Sengupta, one in which human drama, mystery, and emotion all unexpectedly come together”.

Rituparna Sengupta, Rahul Bose, Ananya Chatterjee, Koushik Sen, Paran Bandhopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subrat Dutta, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, and Ratan Sarkhel will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The music is by Anupam Roy, and the background score is by Indraadip Dasgupta.

The film is presented by Pradip Kumar Nandy and produced by Nandy Movies.

The film will be released on the 4^th of July.
