Credai Kolkata’s Rice For Plastic Receives A Great Response

To address the nutritional needs of construction workers and their families while lowering the pollution caused by plastic and e-waste, CREDAI Kolkata has started a significant CSR project called “Rice for Plastic”.
Several project locations in Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly are hosting the campaign. Two kilograms of dry plastic or e-waste have been traded for one kilogram of rice by participants, who include both locals and construction workers. In addition to encouraging appropriate waste management, this program provides immediate assistance to local communities that are essential to the construction of urban infrastructure.
Hundreds of families responded enthusiastically to the campaign, showing up at their respective project sites to contribute plastic and e-waste. The spirit of environmental responsibility and community involvement was further emphasized at a special event hosted at KMDA Projects on June 16.
Shri Firhad Hakim, the Hon’ble Mayor and Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and Housing, Government of West Bengal, attended the event and expressed gratitude for the campaign’s dual effects on the environment and society.

“Our belief in sustainable and inclusive development is reflected in the ‘Rice for Plastic’ campaign. Seeing such high levels of engagement from our employees and locals is heartening. We’re truly changing things together,” said Mr. Sidharth Pansari, Director of Primarc Group and President of CREDAI Kolkata.
The campaign’s message of shared responsibility has been reinforced by the active participation of residents and construction communities. CREDAI Kolkata is eager to carry on with projects that promote social impact and long-term environmental awareness.
