Kolkata’s First Yogathon With An Excellent Sitar Fusion

The Samartha Conscious Living Foundation hosted a unique yogathan with sitar yoga fusion in Kolkata, which drew both in-person and virtual participants from all over India. In a first-of-its-kind event sponsored by Axis Bank, Harsha Banthia organized one of India’s most inclusive and lively yoga celebrations, which was held on Sunday at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium. Participants practiced yoga to the sound of a live sitar performance.
“Breathe. Move. Grow” was the theme for the seventh year. The goal of Yogathon 2025 was to bring together yoga practitioners, families, wellness seekers, and socially conscious individuals for a potent group healing, awareness-raising, and movement experience.
The event was graced by esteemed guests like Mr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata, Mr. Sattar Ali, Regional Branch Banking Head, East-1, Executive Vice President, Axis Bank, Mr. Akhil Nair, Store Leader of Saltlake, Decathalon, Ms. Soma Chakraborty, Cluster Head Marketing, Manipal Hospitals, Mukundapur, Ms. Apala Datta, Principal, Birla Bharati School, Mr. Rajarshi Chatterjee, Sitar Artist and Ms. Harsha Banthia, A Passionate & Experienced Yoga Acharya.

A special Zen-themed yoga jam for families and children was offered, along with a unique fusion of traditional yoga practices and contemporary yoga expressions, such as live guided sound healing.
The Yogathon Suryanamaskar Challenge (50, 108, or 150 rounds), wellness booths, expert-led sessions, and community engagement initiatives were all part of the event, which was intended for people of all ages. With the help of top organizations, wellness companies, and media partners, Yogathon 2025 was able to successfully unite thousands of participants nationwide, both online and offline.
