Just before Durga Puja, Acropolis Mall, one of India’s top modern shopping destinations, marked its tenth anniversary with a mix of charity and celebration.

To commemorate the occasion, renowned singer Soumitra Roy and Shri Sushil Mohta, Chairman of Merlin Group and developer of Acropolis Mall, gave new clothing and shoes to 65 children from Pathchala, a nonprofit that helps impoverished kids in the Kalighat neighborhood. The event was attended by Subhadip Basu, General Manager of Acropolis Mall, and Rukmini Paul, President of Pathchala. The children would enter the holiday season with a restored sense of joy and dignity thanks to the considerate act.

Cultural acts added even more depth to the festivities. With a repertoire that included Ganesh Vandana, Agamani songs welcoming Goddess Durga, and a lively folk medley, renowned Odissi dancer and choreographer Trisha Das Mandal and her group enthralled the audience. In a lively performance, the Pathchala children also displayed their talents, adding joy and innocence to the event. A large cake-cutting event to mark ten years of Acropolis Mall marked the end of the day.

The Rashbehari Connector region has been a bustling urban center since the opening of Acropolis Mall in 2015. For both locals and tourists, the mall has become a well-liked landmark and a one-stop shop, dining and entertainment in Kolkata.

Soumitra Roy, a singer, contributed warmth and melody to the special day by sharing his joy at being a part of the event.

Reaffirming its position as one of Kolkata’s most beloved places, Acropolis Mall continues to establish standards in retail and community engagement after ten years of success.
