Aagomon: A Great Festive Tribute To Modern Bengali Women

As Bengal comes alive for the grand celebration of Durga Pujo, Tanishq—the House of Tata’s largest jewelry retail brand in India—has introduced Aagomon, its newest festive jewelry line. The collection beautifully commemorates the season’s multiple meanings, signaling the arrival of Pujo, Maa Durga, and the modern woman stepping into a new beginning.

Architectural Inspiration and Craftsmanship
Led by well-known Bengali actor Mimi Chakraborty, the collection draws profound inspiration from the architectural artistry of Bengal’s historic Rajbaris. It reimagines their characteristic arches as powerful symbols of change, opportunity, and fresh starts, reflecting the journeys of contemporary Bengali women who honor their roots while pursuing bold goals.
Through elaborate detailing, modern silhouettes, and motifs influenced by Rajbari architecture—such as arch carvings, wrought iron inlays, and wood stucco work—the collection translates this grandeur into exquisite Haarams, Sitahars, Chokers, tie haars, and statement necklaces.

The Spirit of the Srijoni
At the heart of Aagomon is the Srijoni of Notun Bangaliyana—a woman who proudly carries her heritage while embracing new opportunities and shaping her own path. As Mimi Chakraborty said, “When I initially heard the idea of Aagomon, it felt extremely personal to me… A Srijoni is someone who pushes herself toward something new while staying true to her roots.”

Celebrating Trailblazers: Srijoni Shomman
Alongside Aagomon, Tanishq presents the Srijoni Shomman, a unique annual platform honoring women across Bengal who have shaped society through their labor, thoughts, bravery, and contributions.
A distinguished panel of three inspiring women will bring these stories to life in the inaugural edition:
- Ms. Pelki Tshering, Chief Marketing Officer, Tanishq
- Ms. Mimi Chakraborty, Actor and Campaign Face
- Ms. Nandita Das, Renowned Actor, Filmmaker, and Social Activist
Together, their experiences embody women who remain firmly grounded in their identities while creating new opportunities. This initiative will culminate in a grand celebration honoring trailblazing women throughout Bengal in March 2027.
