The press conference of the German film Zweitland was organized at the 31^st Kolkata International Film Festival.

Gracing the event was director Michael Kofler.

The film is set in 1961 in South Tyrol. This is a Northern Italian region with a German-speaking minority. The area is shaken due to separatist bomb attacks. Free-spirited Paul wants to get away from this region that has little to no prospects for a better life. He wants to study painting in Munich. When his brother Anton turns into a fugitive terrorist, he puts his plans on hold. He supports his brother’s wife, Anna, and their little son. As a result, Paul is drawn into a spiral of violence and toxic masculinity.

The film is essentially a historical drama.

The cast consists of Thomas Prenn (Paul), Aenne Schwarz (Anna), Laurence Rupp (Anton), and Francesco Acquaroli (Maresciallo Lombardo).

The producer of the film is Wasiliki Bleser.

The music has been composed by Teho Teardo.

Zweitland- A Land Within was screened under the International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images.

The German film is 113 minutes duration.
