A Successful Afforestation Drive By Florence Organized

Florence, an initiative dedicated to sustainability and community well-being, successfully conducted an afforestation drive at Lions Safari Park near Rabindra Sarobar Lake. Dignitaries from the Lake Authorities, Rotary members, and renowned environmentalist Mr. S. M. Ghosh graced the ceremony, providing incisive advice that enriched the endeavor.
The initiative aimed to restore green cover and reinforce Florence’s commitment to environmental conservation, which aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal—Protect the Environment. Volunteers and participants eagerly planted trees, committing to continue working to restore ecological balance and a healthy future.

Afforestation benefits not just the environment but also the human psyche, providing peace, balance, and mental well-being. A greener world leads to a healthier and happier society. Planting trees increases environmental resilience while also calming the human soul. Nature’s healing power contributes significantly to mental health. The effort emphasized the importance of afforestation in improving air quality, lowering pollution, promoting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change. Beyond environmental benefits, the program stressed the strong link between green places and emotional well-being. Time spent among trees relieves stress, improves mental clarity, and promotes peace of mind. Planting a seedling becomes a symbolic and transformative act of healing—for both persons and the environment.
Florence believes that by planting together, communities may heal together. The Afforestation Drive exemplifies Florence’s ideal of a cleaner, healthier, more emotionally resilient society.
Team Florence, led by Shrestha Ganguly, expressed profound gratitude to all dignitaries, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the achievement of this important environmental project. Florence remains dedicated to creating green spaces and encouraging responsible environmental action.
