The captivating trailer for Hindi ZEE5’s forthcoming original movie Saali Mohabbat was released recently. Tisca Chopra makes her feature film directing debut with this compelling how-dunnit. Radhika Apte, Divyenndu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sharat Saxena, Sauraseni Maitra, and Kusha Kapila all give strong performances.

The film, which was produced by Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Production and Jio Studios, explores a complex and emotionally charged world where the truth is never as straightforward as it first appears.

Saali Mohabbat, which will premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on December 12th, is expected to grab a larger audience after receiving high praise at IFFI and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival.

In the peaceful town of Fursatgarh, Radhika Apte’s character Smita leads a secluded, almost invisible life while taking care of her lush garden, where each leaf feels like a confidant. Her husband, her plants, and the calm routine she adheres to with almost religious fervor all provide her with solace. Her world is tiny, predictable, and almost closed off from the outside world.

But when the town’s tranquility is shattered by a startling double murder, everything falls apart. It becomes evident that things are not as straightforward as they once appeared when underlying conflicts and motivations come to light. Along with numerous other possible suspects, Smita is drawn out of her cocoon and into the maelstrom of suspicion as the inquiry intensifies. Forced into the open, she must fight to maintain her own sense of calm and sanity in addition to facing the mysteries that are unfolding all around her. It remains to be determined if Smita is the storm’s darkest secret or just a witness.

Radhika Apte said, “The eerie quiet of Smita’s world is depicted in the trailer. Playing her required me to sit with difficult-to-define feelings, and that task was immensely fulfilling. I was able to strike that delicate balance between silent vulnerability and hidden strength with Tisca’s aid. Saali Mohabbat is set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 from 12th December 2025.
