2nd Edition Of Woods & Wonders Now At Kolkata Book Fair

Ambuja Neotia presented the second edition of Woods & Wonders at the 49th International Kolkata Book Fair. This carefully chosen project symbolizes the Group’s long-held conviction that progress and nature must coexist. Woods & Wonders 2.0, which is based on the idea of living in harmony with nature, aims to foster a community of like-minded people who find inspiration, purpose, and a sense of community in the peaceful rhythms of the natural world.
Woods & Wonders is more than just an exhibition; it’s a call to pause and take in the scenery. To hear what living greenery, rivers, forests, and open skies reveal when they are given room to breathe. The second volume returns with more detail, providing an immersive look into the lesser-known ecological richness of Raichak on the Ganges, after its first edition last year, which resonated with attendees at the Book Fair.
The display, which is situated at Stall 290 close to Gate No. 5, features striking images, films, and paintings that depict the flora, animals, and living landscapes that surround Gardenia Private Villas, Ambuja Neotia’s natural haven in Raichak. Each piece depicts moments of focused observation, where nature is perceived as a living world to be understood and respected rather than as a backdrop, shaped by an abundance of greenery, wide skies, and the peaceful presence of the Ganges nearby.
The show is based on Green Gallery 2.0, a two-day creative immersion that took place in Gardenia Private Villas earlier this month. Photographers, filmmakers, and artists all interacted with the terrain in different ways, each adding a unique perspective, sensibility, and tempo to the observation of its richness. What resulted is a multi-layered body of work in which each frame and canvas tells a unique story that is formed by individual viewpoints rather than a single narrative. When taken as a whole, these views honor nature as it is, recognizing its persistent resilience, calm fragility, and unceasing presence.
Prominent visitors from a variety of backgrounds, including urban planners, cultural voices, conservationists, and artists, all of whom have a strong connection to both environment and society, attended the stall’s opening.
A coffee table book detailing Green Gallery 2.0 was also released on this occasion. Vijay Shankar Dwivedi, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Ambuja Neotia, elaborated on the project’s purpose, saying that it was never about exhibiting a property but rather about showing a relationship with the location. He clarified that the artists were asked to fully immerse themselves in Raichak’s environment and react naturally to its movement, light, biodiversity, and silence. He claimed that the final pieces serve as subdued tales of harmony between the natural world and human creation.
Images of migratory birds, native trees, reflected rivers, and minute details that are frequently overlooked can be found at the Woods & Wonders booth. Together, they create a multi-layered story that emphasizes Ambuja Neotia‘s conviction that communities centered around the natural world inherently promote stewardship, awareness, and a stronger feeling of community.
Woods & Wonders 2.0 provides a welcome diversion from the fast-paced, densely populated world. It serves as a reminder that living properly entails learning to coexist peacefully and responsibly with nature rather than severing ties with it.
