Desun Hospital honored the bravery, tenacity, and optimism of cancer survivors on World Cancer Day 2026 with a Cancer Awareness & Survivor Celebration.

To emphasize the value of early diagnosis and preventative healthcare, the program also included a free prostate cancer screening effort for men 50 years of age and older.

Several cancer survivors graced the occasion by sharing their inspirational tales of resilience and fortitude. To honor survivors and to convey a message of hope, solidarity, and renewed dedication to the fight against cancer, a symbolic balloon release was organized.

Along with a number of Desun Hospital oncologists, Dr. Sujoy Ranjan Deb, Senior Medical Director, also attended the seminar and emphasized the need for awareness and early action.

Dr. Sujoy Ranjan Deb said, “At Desun Hospital, we believe that awareness and early screening can save lives. Any type of cancer is very treatable if caught early. We hope to dispel stigma, promote prompt screening, and show support for cancer survivors and their families through events like these on World Cancer Day”.

Desun Hospital’s dedication to comprehensive cancer care, awareness, and survivor support was reaffirmed by the participation of hospital physicians, medical professionals, cancer survivors, and community members.
