This year’s Valentine’s Day is envisioned at Spiegel, the new concept-driven restaurant in Charnock City, as seasonal love, brief yet profound, and intimate. Through food, art, and community-driven events, the restaurant hopes to serve as a gathering place for people and a cultural hub.

Spiegel, who is based on the idea of culinary storytelling, uses modern methods and international culinary allusions to reinterpret Bengali foods and memories. This Valentine’s Day narrative goes beyond food to discuss the various ways that love is felt today, including amongst friends, partners, long-term companions, and people who are just learning what friendship is all about.

A discourse between two people who are learning, remembering, or rediscovering each other is reflected in the Valentine’s menu, which is arranged as a gentle progression that is light, contemplative, decadent at times, but never overwhelming.

On offer are Colour of Passion, Chicken Liver Pâté with Topakul Butter and Bori Crumble, Mushroom Bruschetta with Topakul Butter and Bori Crumble, Chicken Croquette Stuffed with Chicken Skin Butter and Bandel Cheese Cream, Chilly Pork Belly Tart with Bacon Bits, Red Rooster, Chosi Spätzle, Grilled Bhetki with Ghee Hollandaise Sauce and Strawberry Payesh Tart.
