Teaser Poster For ‘Ei Shohorer Gaan’ Out Now

The “City of Joy” has always been a muse for filmmakers, but upcoming director Prarjun Majumder is set to present a different melody of urban life in his new venture, Ei Shohorer Gaan. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast, the film’s first teaser poster has officially been released, sparking curiosity about its intricate portrayal of human connections.
The film boasts a powerhouse lineup of Bengali cinema’s finest. Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Priyanka Sarkar lead the cast, joined by the versatile Anirban Chakrabarti, Konineeca Banerjee, Angana Roy, and Manpreet Rohtash Nimbiwal. The movie also features significant performances by Prantik Banerjee, Zinia Pandey, and Rittika Banerjee.
Ei Shohorer Gaan is a contemporary take on the complex equations of relationships. The narrative follows three couples standing at three distinct stages of life, each grappling with their own unique conflicts and emotional dilemmas.
While these characters do not know one another and their lives never directly intersect, they are bound together by an invisible, heartfelt thread. At the very center of this connection lies the city of Kolkata itself—acting as a silent witness and a unifying force that weaves its destinies together.
The director has carefully curated the roles to reflect the diversity of the city’s residents:
- Parambrata Chattopadhyay as Aniket
- Priyanka Sarkar as Srijoni
- Anirban Chakrabarti as Shantanu
- Konineeca Banerjee as Anamika
- Angana Roy as Trisha
- Manpreet Rohtash Nimbiwal as Rahul
For director Prarjun Majumder, Kolkata is not just a backdrop; it is a living, breathing protagonist.
“In this film, the city of Kolkata is a character in itself. Countless stories of relationships take root in this city, and I want to bring those to the big screen. This film will reflect deep emotions. Every character in my movie speaks about their own personal relationship with their city. I hope the audience finds a piece of themselves in it”, said Majumder.
Produced by Akansha Roy and Prarjun Majumder under the banner of Stagged Films, the movie has already wrapped up its first schedule, shot across various iconic and hidden corners of Kolkata. The second phase of filming is slated to begin later this month, with the film scheduled for release later this year.
Adding to the allure, the film will feature a soulful soundtrack rendered by some of the most popular voices in the industry, further enhancing the “song” of the city.
