The new Sun Bangla serial, Bhalobashar Rong Route, aims to break down stereotypes surrounding different professions. While most of us associate nursing jobs with women and bus driving jobs with men, the story of this serial will offer something different.

The hero is a male nurse, while the heroine is a bus driver. Rupai is a bus driver by profession. She hails from a poor family. She learned to drive the bus from her father. Later, she took up this job to earn money for her family. She drives the bus from Rajarhat to the Howrah route. Rehan, meanwhile, is a male nurse. Both the characters, through their respective professions, challenge the social norms.

A press conference was organized in the presence of the episode director, Tamal Maity, actors Indranil Chatterjee, Misti, Pinky Banerjee, and others.

This is Misti’s first work. “It is special as this is my first work. And to get such a character for my first work means a lot. When I learned about the character of Rupai, I was shocked that I would play a bus driver. I am thankful that I will be able to give my best and hope that the audience will recognize my efforts,” said the actress.

Indranil Chatterjee said, “I did my first project with Susanta da, and now I get to work with him. Rehan is a good person. He had the qualities to become a good doctor, but due to some issues, he ended up becoming a nurse. He tries to keep the family together. I am enjoying portraying the character”.

The serial is produced by Susanta Das. “I saw an article in a newspaper about a male nurse. It is then that I got the idea for this story. To complement the male nurse, I thought a female bus driver would fit the bill perfectly. Hence, I came up with this story,” said Mr. Das.

Susanta Das said, “I cast Misti for the role after watching her videos on social media. I have been following her videos for some time, and I found she had fewer inhibitions and was very carefree. She did not act. rather she was being herself. That appealed to me, and I thought she would be perfect for Rupai. And she has been doing a good job”.

Pinky Banerjee plays Binita, the mother of Rupai, in the serial. “I love women characters who break out of the mold personally. When I played Binita, I had to forget my thoughts and beliefs to portray the role. She is someone who fears how Rupai will react if she drives a bus. However, I have to say that enacting this role becomes easy due to the great chemistry we actors have on the set. And Misti is an obedient actor. She always tries to learn”.

Bhalobashar Rong Route starts airing from 23^rd February onwards daily at 6.30 pm only on Sun Bangla.
