Art Exhibition Rhythm: Goddesses, Games and Music Inaugurated
The exhibition, Rhythm: Goddesses, Games and Music, jointly curated by Ms Reena Dewan, AVP, Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) and Mr Rajesh Purohit, Director, Indian Museum was inaugurated on the occasion of International Museum Day. The inauguration was followed by a musical performance, Confluence: A Meeting-Point of Musical Genres.
The exhibition highlights the theme of International Museum Day, ‘Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition’. International Council of Museums (ICOM) recommends museums to act as networks to support partnerships and as cores to invigorate communities at the local level.
Through this exhibition Kolkata Centre for Creativity & Indian Museum demonstrated how museums can act as networks and the collections of these two organizations exhibited here show traditional and contemporary art.
The exhibition is expected to not only draw audiences interested in fine arts both contemporary and traditional art.
The exhibition is open from 18th May, 2019 till 1st June, 2019, except 19th May, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
