Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport is organizing Boishakh-er Milon Mela, a carefully planned Bengali New Year celebration that unites the shared culinary and cultural heritage of Epar Bangla and Opar Bangla, to commemorate the lively spirit of Poila Boishakh.

The celebration, which is intended to be a sophisticated theatrical dining experience, is inspired by the literary genius of Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore. Their artistic essence is translated into a menu that tells a tale of cultural depth, unity, and nostalgia. The experience, which has its roots in tradition but is offered in a modern hospitality setting, is designed to arouse strong feelings of celebration and heritage.

Boishakh-er Milon Mela has been envisioned as an immersive cultural showcase that goes beyond a traditional festive buffet. The experience includes a story-driven menu that draws inspiration from the subtlety of Tagore and the intensity of Nazrul, slow cooking elements in the Unoon (hearth furnace) style, terracotta thali service that reflects Bengali dining customs, and a culturally rich atmosphere that is influenced by traditional attire and Baul music. Every component has been thoughtfully created to preserve the elegance of a global hospitality brand while honoring the spirit of Poila Boishakh.

On offer are dishes like Aam Pora Sorbot, Gondhoraj Ghol, Echorer Kaliya, Chanar Monohara, Aloo Jhinge Posto, Basanti Pulao, Gondhoraj Macher Dimer Peyaji, Komola Katla, Murgir Malai Curry, Macher Paturi, Chingri Malai Curry, Sorshe Murgi, Kolkata Mutton Biryani, Baked Roshogolla, Mihidana Rabri, and Kheer Patisapta, and others.

In keeping with the Bengali calendar year and enhancing the joyous story of Poila Boishakh, the experience is priced at Rs 1433 (All Inclusive), adding a distinctive thematic element.

On April 15 and 16, 2026, the Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport will extend the festivities with a limited festive menu and a décor showcase. In addition to group dining options and carefully chosen festive gift boxes, guests can take advantage of “Noboborsho At Home” via delivery services, making the event accessible outside of the hotel.

Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport’s Boishakh-er Milon Mela is a distinctive celebration of Bengali identity that combines cuisine, literature, and cultural storytelling. The project demonstrates how custom and modern hospitality can coexist to produce memorable celebratory experiences that appeal to both local customers and visitors from around the world.
