M. P. Birla Planetarium hosted the programme in association with Kholamon. Centred on the theme “Relationship between Astronomy and Cinema as well as Literature in Retrospect with Prospective Potentialities”, the seminar examined the evolving intersections between astronomical science and creative expression in cinema and literature, highlighting both historical linkages and future possibilities.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries like Subhabrata Datta, Ashoke Viswanathan, Satarupa Sanyal, Sampa Sen, Sharmistha Basu, S. V. Raman, Sanjay Mukhopadhyay, Sankar Lal Bhattacharya, Kumud Chandra Kar, Anup Sen, Nandini Bhattacharya, and Lahari Mahalanabis.

“Human imagination has long been inspired by astronomy. Its relationship to literature and film makes science more approachable, interesting, and applicable to society as a whole,” said Subhabrata Datta, Curator of M. P. Birla Planetarium.
“This initiative seeks to create a meaningful platform where science and creativity converge, encouraging young minds to move beyond conventional boundaries and explore interdisciplinary possibilities”, said Shyamal Biswas, Founder President of Kholamon.

A cultural program at the end of the seminar gave the event a festive feel. The initiative was well received by participants and successfully promoted communication between the scientific and creative communities, according to the organizers.
