JIS launched its “Made in JIS” Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre at its Austin Tower campus in New Town, Kolkata. The program represents an important turning point in the development of a strong, innovation-driven startup ecosystem in Eastern India, one that supports industry-led innovation, student entrepreneurs, and early-stage startups.

The launch ceremony was graced by Shri Arjun Vaidya, Co-Founder of V3 Ventures and Founder of Dr. Vaidya’s, a prominent D2C entrepreneur and early-stage investor; Shri Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Executive Director of Techno India Group; Shri Manoj Khosla, Director of Khosla Group; and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Director of JIS, and other guests.

The Centre was designed as a collaborative innovation hub with the goal of bringing together academic institutions, corporations, incubators, students, startup founders, and ecosystem enablers on a single, cohesive platform. With the help of mentorship, industry exposure, strategic advice, and organized entrepreneurial resources, JIS envisions a setting where ideas grow into scalable, significant businesses.

Two specialized programs will be available at the centre. The Pre-Incubation Programme emphasizes entrepreneurial orientation, mentorship, startup principles, and idea validation for students. Product-market fit, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, business development, and scalability are all addressed by the Growth Track Programme, an execution-driven platform.

Creating meaningful opportunities for networking, mentorship, ecosystem exposure, and founder-led learning—delivered through interactive sessions with entrepreneurs, investors, operators, and industry leaders—is at the heart of the Centre’s mission.

Additionally, the initiative launches a Corporate Innovation Programme that enables institutions and corporations to work with students and startups to address real-world industry challenges, provide pilot opportunities, and promote innovation-led problem-solving.
