With World Trade Center Salt Lake serving as the sustainability partner and Acropolis Mall serving as the venue partner, Merlin Group and CBRE collaborated to organize a blood donation drive, demonstrating their dedication to social responsibility and community welfare. In collaboration with the National Thalassemia Welfare Society and the Federation of Blood Organizations of India (FBDOI), Kolkata, the initiative was organized for the Acropolis Office Building staff with the goal of promoting voluntary blood donation and helping patients with thalassemia and other life-threatening illnesses. The collection was overseen by IBTNI Kolkata’s Central Blood Bank.

After successfully organizing blood drives in Bengaluru, Pune, and Gurgaon, CBRE is now planning one in Kolkata. CBRE would like to express its sincere gratitude to all of the volunteers, medical partners, and organizers who have contributed to the enormous success of this admirable cause.

48 employees enthusiastically participated in the drive, believing that every drop of blood can save a life.

Experienced medical professionals from the National Thalassemia Welfare Society handled the entire blood collection procedure, following all medical guidelines to guarantee a clean, safe, and easy donation process. Before donation, medical professionals performed hemoglobin tests, determined each donor’s blood type, and gave participants advice on the vital significance of consistent blood donation, especially in fulfilling thalassemia patients’ lifetime transfusion requirements.

The National Thalassemia Welfare Society will use the blood units gathered during the drive to support patients, ensuring a consistent supply of safe blood for those in need of frequent transfusions.

In addition to meeting a critical healthcare need, the initiative highlights the shared commitment of Merlin Group, Acropolis Mall, CBRE, and World Trade Center Salt Lake to promoting a culture of compassion, volunteerism, and social responsibility. The partners hope to encourage more people and organizations to come forward and support life-saving causes that have a long-lasting impact on society by promoting voluntary blood donation.
