Prompt Medical Advice Helps Save Life Of 56-Year-Old Businessman

Mr. Afsar Ahmed Khan, a 56-year-old businessman, experienced severe chest pain and discomfort while in Gurgaon on business.
He first went to a nearby hospital but later made the decision to go to Kolkata for additional care. He sought medical advice from the cardiac team at Kolkata Heart Lung Center & Research Institute.
He was instructed to take the proper loading dose of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and a statin after his ECG was evaluated. Mr. Afsar Ahmed Khan made the tough choice to travel from Gurgaon to Kolkata despite being in a different city and being aware of the dangers of doing so while suffering from a persistent cardiac condition. He trusted the hospital and the treating physician, Dr. Aadil Bashir Wasil.
He took the prescribed medication, flew, and arrived at the hospital late at night. He was assessed right away and scheduled for coronary angiography.
The angiogram showed complete occlusion of the OM branch and severe coronary artery disease. In order to achieve good blood flow, the cardiology team quickly moved forward with angioplasty and successfully implanted a drug-eluting stent.
Mr. Afsar Ahmed Khan was released in stable condition after the procedure was successfully finished.
The case is an amazing tale of prompt medical advice, the patient’s bravery and faith, and the cardiac team’s well-coordinated efforts.
A journey of trust from Gurgaon to Kolkata culminated in a successful cardiac procedure.
