Leading national and international experts, clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals gathered in Kolkata from September 11–13, 2026, at the Taj Taal Kutir in Kolkata for the 7th Annual National Conference of the Neurocritical Care Society of India (NCSI 2026).

The conference, which had as its theme From Basics to Breakthroughs: Advancing Neurocritical Care, examined the quickly developing field of neurocritical care by tying together fundamental bedside concepts with the most recent developments in technology, neuromonitoring, neuroimaging, precision medicine, and artificial intelligence.

Critical neurological conditions such as acute stroke, intracerebral and subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, CNS infections, and neuromuscular emergencies were all covered in the scientific program.

Neurological assessment, airway and ventilation management, hemodynamic optimization, seizure and intracranial pressure management, prevention of secondary brain injury, and advanced neuromonitoring were all covered in the sessions.

With a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care, the three-day program included keynote addresses, cutting-edge updates, interactive panels, debates, case-based discussions, and hands-on clinical sessions.

A major highlight was the participation of 12 international faculty members, including Prof. (Dr) Ryan Hakimi, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Dr. Priyanka Jain, Dr. Shoji Yokobori, Dr. Gemmalynn B Sarapuddin, Dr. Ritwik Bhatia, Dr. Chitra Venkatasubramanian, Dr. Jo Ann Soliven, Dr. Surbhi T Singh, Dr. Chidananda Swamy Muthugaduru Narappa, Dr. Sukhen Samanta and Dr. Sujay Samanta.

Delegates had the chance to discuss current issues in neurocritical care, collaborate academically, and exchange global knowledge thanks to their participation.

NCSI 2026 sought to advance education, research, mentorship, and interdisciplinary cooperation while fortifying the link between scientific evidence and bedside practice.

Additionally, neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, nurses, trainees, and allied health professionals had a great opportunity to learn from and engage with national and international experts at the conference.
