In collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, Kolkata-based creator Preeti Sarkar organized her first-ever community gathering, Chai Latte with Preeti, at Hashtag, Kolkata. At the small event, Preeti and her community came together for candid discussions, engaging games, and a celebration of uniqueness.

In an open discussion, Preeti talked about the difficulties she had when she initially moved to Kolkata to pursue acting, including a traumatic audition experience that made her wonder if she belonged in the business. She also talked about being criticized for how she looked during a brand photo shoot, which resonated with her because of her long-standing concerns.

She said, “The same girl who was once made to feel embarrassed about her appearance went on to become the face of an international hair color company. Never let your aspirations be limited by the beauty standards of others”.

Preeti also talked about how she began her content-creation career with just a phone, sunlight, and a makeshift tripod. She claimed that the moment she stopped attempting to imitate others and started creating in her own voice marked a turning point in her life. “Don’t squander your life trying to prove others wrong. Continue creating a life that brings you pride,” added Preeti.

In addition to refreshments, photos, and casual chats with Preeti, other creators, and friends, the day featured Chai Latte Bingo, Kulhad Pong, DIY charm-making, and surprises. The event gave the community a chance to interact offline and commemorate the events that have influenced Preeti’s path.

Fundamentally, Chai Latte with Preeti embraced self-expression, resiliency, and authenticity—bringing virtual relationships into a welcoming, physical environment. The afternoon’s themes of uniqueness and accepting one’s identity were enhanced by the affiliation with L’Oréal Paris.
