Brazilian football star Douglas Maicon has been formally named King’s Sports Management’s Official Brand Ambassador during a historic press conference.

In order to provide the groundwork for Mission 2037—an ambitious project intended to produce elite Indian talent and position them in elite European leagues—the strategic alliance represents a significant milestone for Indian football. It aims to connect Brazilian football knowledge with Indian youth development.

On November 14, 2026, Douglas Maicon will travel to Kolkata for a special launch party in honor of Children’s Day at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. The main goal of bringing Maicon to India is to blend India’s developing talent pool with Brazilian football’s strong youth development culture. With this program, King’s Sports Management hopes to create a long-lasting ecosystem that finds, develops, and advances young football players to the top levels in India and around the world.

Managing Director Avishek Sengupta highlighted the long-term strategy direction and said, “We are bringing Maicon to help Indian football grow by emulating what Brazil is doing with its young stars. The effort seeks to professionalize India’s larger sports management scene in addition to on-field progress. King’s Sports Management will formally introduce the Diploma in Sports Business and Player Representation, a ground-breaking educational program, during Maicon’s visit”.

Chief Operating Officer Saswata Ghosh said, “Maicon is being brought in with the intention of starting a new educational program. A diploma in sports business and player representation will be included throughout the course”.

King’s Sports Management is tackling the structural gaps and career development attitudes that are now impeding player advancement in order to achieve the ultimate aim of moving Indian athletes to Europe by 2037.
