Who declared that ghosts must be frightening? Introducing Jilipi, a seven-year- old who commands the prestige of a seasoned elder and hides some eerie talents! A classic Bengali zamindar home serves as the backdrop for Bhoot Ginni Jilipilata: From 1942, a story blending ghostly antics, eccentric family life, and surprising humor. Beginning November 23rd, Sony AATH and Sony LIV will air a new quirky spooky fiction series.

Despite being seven years old, she rules the house with undisputed authority.  Introducing Jilipi, a child spirit who resurfaced after eight decades, determined to discipline her family. When a small ghost takes charge in a home full of strong characters, trouble is bound to follow. Spooky surprises, quirky family drama, and Jilipi’s unconventional methods of keeping the household in check create quite a haunting ride for the residents of this family.

Producer Sahana Dutta said, “Jilipi is unlike any character seen before. At seven years old, she rules the house in her mind as its undisputed leader. She truly feels it is her duty to look after everyone, and this belief gives rise to many amusing situations. Her personality contains significant warmth and devotion underneath a playful nature and magical elements. The story explores family and belonging just as much as it does a ghost, and I hope the audience enjoys watching Jilipi as much as we enjoyed creating her world”.

The production house is Missing Screw, with Sahana Dutta and Rohit Samanta serving as producers and curators.

The show features Sreejoyee Majumdar, Kanchan Mallick, Chandmohon Talukdar, Pushpita Mukherjee, Sumit Samaddar, Chandreyee Dutta, Sanghashree Sinha, Indranil, Prity Biswas, Aritra Dutta, Debparna, Prity Kundu, Rishav, Madhurima, Ananya Sen, Chandranibha Mukherjee, Koushiki, Supradip Khatuya (Fugla), Jiyana, and Ruthvik and Priyangshi.

Bhoot Ginni Jilipilata: From 1942 will start on 23rd November on Sony AATH and Sony LIV.
