A Special Environmental Awareness Initiative By Team Pinjar

The critically acclaimed Bengali feature film Pinjar (directed by Rudrajit Roy) celebrated World Environment Day with a special evening devoted to nature, compassion, and meaningful social discourse in an inspiring fusion of film, environmental awareness, and cultural expression.
Along with the cast, crew, and creative team of the eagerly anticipated Bengali film, notable figures from the film industry, media, culture, and public life attended the celebration at DKS Club in Kolkata, which was organized by Chasing Dreams Films in collaboration with Bell Jar Films.
A Tree Plantation Drive, Pinjar’s Official Teaser Launch, Press Meet, and Environmental Awareness Initiative were all thoughtfully combined at the event, which reflected the spirit of a movie that addresses not only physical captivity but also emotional confinement, human vulnerability, and the yearning for freedom.

Pinjar has consistently gained recognition for its poetic storytelling, visually immersive treatment, and emotionally nuanced narrative after participating in numerous esteemed national and international film festivals, such as Chicago, Montreal, London, and KIFF. The World Environment Day initiative echoed themes of coexistence, healing, and responsibility toward nature, extending the film’s spirit beyond the screen.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities like Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Roopa Ganguly, Locket Chatterjee, Nandini Bhattacharjee, Sarbori Mukherjee, Abhijit Guha, Sudeshna Roy, Koneenica Banerjee, Debleena Dutt, Rathijit Bhattacharyya, Sreya Bhattacharyya, Anindyo Sarkar, and Arjunn Dutta.

Members of the Pinjar cast and team, including Mallika Banerjee, Sagnik Mukherjee, Ishan Mazumder, Tathagata Mukherjee, Samiul Alam, Swastidipa Rabidas, and Music Director Ratul Shankar, Sound Designer Aneesh Basu, along with the other cast members, were also present.
Pinjar examines the invisible cages that frequently exist in relationships, society, and human emotions, according to director Rudrajit Roy. Through this project, the team aimed to foster a more in-depth discussion about empathy, freedom, and mindful coexistence by fusing environmental awareness with cinematic storytelling.

After an engaging media session, the evening developed into a significant celebration of awareness, artistic expression, and group responsibility.
Pinjar, which is produced by Chasing Dreams Films in collaboration with Bell Jar Films, will be released in theaters on July 10, 2026, continuing its widely acclaimed journey to audiences through a potent cinematic investigation of freedom, emotional captivity, and the precarious relationship between humanity and nature.
